The tuning forks used in the Acutonics sound healing modality are manufactured here in the United States. They’re state of the art, of the highest quality, and are perfectly tuned over a range of three octaves. The singing bowls are directly from Nepal & Tibet, and have been hand-selected for the most perfect pitch and sustain. The gongs are hand made in Germany, and are painstakingly tuned. They’re quite a presence!

What pitches are all of these sound tools tuned to? The tuning forks, singing bowls and gongs are all perfectly tuned to the planets in our solar system. Everything in our universe has a vibration, and is resonating at its particular frequency. That includes all of our planets, but they’re outside of the range for the human ear to hear. So, the vibration for each planet has been mathematically calculated into the frequency range for human hearing, and applied to the Acutonics tuning forks and Planetary gongs. The pitches of the singing bowls at North Star Acutonics have been meticulously matched to the planetary frequencies as well.

Why tune the pitches to our planets? This is not a new phenomenon, and is based upon the work of Pythagoros (569-490 BC) and his “Music of the Spheres”. In addition, Acutonics takes into consideration the archetype associated with each planet, and how its characteristics are useful to the human experience and healing.

Musically speaking, the harmonic relationships between different notes bring about certain results, and this is where the music theory portion steps in. Some tones are calming, balancing, soothing and nurturing. Others are energizing, moving, dissonant, resolving, etc. Some bring warmth and action, while others bring cooling and calming. Where those pitches sit in relation to a root note makes all the difference in how they achieve an intended result.
